Lindy Hop

This dynamic style of dance is sure to make you look like a pro amongst your friends. It can be danced fast or slow, depending on your preference. Lindy Hop is the most popular style of dancing amongst swing dancers. Want to see it in action?

Level 1 - Beginner Lindy Hop

Are you new to dancing? Beginner Lindy Hop is a great place to begin. This class teaches you a strong foundation while moving at a comfortable pace. After 6 weeks, you'll definitely be a Hep Cat on the social dance floor. No dance experience needed. Bringing a dance partner is optional.

Level 2 - Beginner-Intermediate Lindy Hop

In this class, you will learn Lindy Hop basics while enjoying music from the Big Band era. Beginner-Intermediate Lindy Hop covers everything you need to make you feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor. Level 1 Lindy Hop is NOT required for this course but recommended. Bringing a dance partner is optional.

Level 2 - Beginner-Intermediate Lindy Hop Rueda

The Beginner-Intermediate Lindy Hop Rueda Course covers all your Lindy Hop basics while playing Winnipeg's favorite swing dance game, the Swing Rueda. This social game is dynamic and sassy! A circular dance consisting of a Caller, calling moves and dancers responding, followed by crazy fun partner swopping! This game is great for all levels. Beginner Lindy Hop is NOT required for this course but recommended. Bringing a dance partner is optional.

Level 3 - Intermediate Lindy Hop

Moves, moves and more moves! Now that you have your basics, it's time to apply it! Instructors choice, no two classes will ever be the same. Lindy Hop Level 2 is required for this course.

Level 4 - Advance Lindy Hop

Advance Lindy Hop focuses on strong Lead and Follow techniques. Lindy Hop has more moves than any other dance on this planet and with this course you will open the door to the impossible!!! Lindy Hop Level 3 is required for this course.

Blues

Try out this dance that digs to the very root and soul of music. Danced to slower tempos, blues is all about keeping things simple. Groove with us as we explore the fundamentals to blues dancing. Be assured, this style will heat up the dance floor! Want to see it in action?

Charleston

This high energy, upbeat dance is sure to get your hearting pumping and your feet pulsing! It can be danced with a partner or solo. People will be sure to make room for you on the floor. Want to see it in action?

Balboa

This dance is tight! Balboa became popular because of packed dance floors. This style focuses on maintaining a close connection and making every step count. Want to see it in action?

Aerials

Ever see those guys tossing the girls up into the air? Learn to add that pizzazz to your dancing! Just so we ensure that everyone is having a high flying time, we emphasize fitness, technique, and safety in this class. Want to see it in action?

American Jive

New to dancing? This style is energetic, fun, and a great way to get your feet wet. Learn how to be a confident lead and incredible follow. You'll be sure to enjoy yourself on the dance floor. Want to see it in action?

Intro to Swing Dancing

New to swing dancing? This class is meant for you. We start with the fun and easy Jive, and work our way up to the Charleston. A great way to get your feet wet. Learn how to be a confident lead and incredible follow. You'll be sure to enjoy yourself on the dance floor.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: If I miss the first dance class, can I still join!
A: Yes you can, but we recommend that you contact us and arrange to come a little earlier for the second class, so we can catch you up. If you miss the first two classes, the answer would be no, it's a little hard for you to catch up unless you have a strong dance background.
Q: Do you need a dance partner?
A: No. Partners are not required, but please feel free to bring a friend, spouse, or family member.
Q: What kind of clothing do you recommend?
A: We recommend non-restrictive comfortable clothing. Dance shoes are not required, but please bring a pair of indoor shoes. If you don't have dance shoes, warn out runners' works best.
Q: Is previous dance experience required?
A: Unless the course description says 'Intermediate' or Level 2, no, anyone can take the class. One of the joys of swing dancing is just about anyone can do it. We see many "non-dancers" flourish in our class. Previous dance experience is an asset though.
Q: What is the age range of the participants?
A: Our classes are mainly for adults and you can expect to see people varying from 18-50+. If you know someone who is below 18 who wants to takes lessons, send us an email and we'll make sure to accommodate you.
